Vasco: Abdus Shah and Samairah Bhandare emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories respectively at the ‘Emeton Tech’ Goa State Squash Closed Tournament 2026, organised by the Goa Association of Squash under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) at the Sports Authority of Goa’s squash courts in Chicalim-Vasco.
In the men’s final, the 18-year-old Abdus outplayed top seed Kevin Albuquerque 11-6, 11-7, 11-9 to clinch the title. In the women’s summit clash, Samairah proved too strong for Nimrit Pasricha, registering a comfortable 11-5, 11-8, 11-4 victory.
In the boys’ U-15 final, Arpit Mahto defeated Sufiyaan Hubli 13-11, 12-10, 11-13, 11-6 in a competitive encounter. The girls’ U-15 title was won by Srishti Rajagopalan, who beat Asrit Pasricha 11-7, 11-8, 11-7.
The boys’ U-11 category saw Sarthak Dhyani overcome Tanishq Kudalkar 11-6, 11-5, 11-6 in the final. In the girls’ U-11 section, Amirtha Kundave dominated the contest, defeating Aarohee Maharana 11-0, 11-1, 11-0 to claim the crown. Amirtha is currently ranked 11th nationally in the girls’ under-11 category in the SRFI rankings.
