They outplay Shree Mallikarjun College, Canacona, 64-41 in inter-collegiate final
Panaji: GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics, Farmagudi, Ponda, won the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Women’s Championship 2026-27 after defeating Shree Mallikarjun and Shri Chetan Manju Desai College of Arts & Commerce, Canacona, 64-41 in the final.
GVM’s had earlier beaten Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce 65-37 in the semifinals, while Canacona defeated Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, 53-32 to reach the final.
Vibha Jalmi of GVM’s Farmagudi was adjudged the Best Player of the championship.
The women’s competition featured 18 teams and was held alongside the men’s championship from September 7 to 10 at the S.A.G.’s Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium, Peddem, Mapusa.
The GVM’s Farmagudi title-winning squad comprised Dhanashree Khandolkar, Nimita Singh, Bhumika Gaude, Vibha Jalmi, Tanisha Gaude, Maithili Suryavanshi, Samiksha Malekar, Chaytali Gaude, Samiksha Gaude, Laxmi Goral, Shweta Salgaonkar and Anjali Ingale.
