Rajashree Pednekar, a final-year MCom student of DCT’s SS Dempo College, created history at the Inter-College Powerlifting Championship by winning gold in the 57 kg category and setting a new record with a total lift of 307 kg across squats, bench press and deadlift.

The championship, organised by Goa University, was held at its Silver Jubilee Hall, Taleigao, from January 14 to 16, with
98 participants competing across eight
weight categories. Pednekar’s performance on the final day earned her the title of ‘Strongest Woman of Goa University,’ cementing her status as one of the state’s leading
collegiate athletes.
