Panaji: A fluent century by Shaantanu Nevagi guided Goa to 286 all out in their first innings against Jammu & Kashmir on the opening day of their Colonel C.K. Nayudu Elite Under-23 four-day match at Jammu, on Friday.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Goa endured an uncertain start with Aditya Kota (20), Sarthak Bhike (0) and Yash Kasvankar (5) departing early. Nevagi then anchored the innings with a well-crafted 104 off 131 balls, laced with 18 boundaries, to steady the ship.

He received valuable support from Chittem Jeevankumar (47), while Dishank Misquin remained unbeaten on 49. Vishal Kumar was the standout performer for J&K, returning figures of 6 for 90, whileSarvashish Singh claimed 3 for 63.

In reply, Jammu & Kashmir made a cautious start to reach 10 for no loss in two overs at stumps.
