Preparation for the Class 12 English board exam is now made easier with the launch of the latest edition, ‘A Marked Difference in English’ by Cecilia Viegas

NT KURIOCITY

Class 12 students appearing for their English Board exam now have an added advantage with the release of the latest edition of ‘A Marked Difference in English’ by Cecilia Viegas.

The book was recently launched at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar at the hands of executive editor of Goa Gazeteer Dr. Balaji Shenoy who was the chief guest, Principal of RMS HSS Cintia Abranches, architect Rajiv D’Silva and club committee members Tanmay Khlokar and Sanjeev Sardesai.

The first edition of the book came out in 2013, inspired by Viegas’ own experience when her daughter appeared for the Class Board exam in 2012. “At the time, I realised there wasn’t enough solved material available in English. That’s when it struck me to prepare a comprehensive reference book for the Class 12 students that will cover each and every topic in English, with a number of solved board papers.”

The newly released book is her sixth edition featuring over 30 solved Goa Board and Prelim papers, including March 2024/2025, arranged lesson-wise for easy reference. “In addition, it has figures of speech, extra solved exercises, and revision practice questions designed to prepare students for any challenging question that come their way,” says Viegas.

The grammar section provides detailed guidelines, explanations, and examples to strengthen students’ writing and comprehension skills. “Since the Flamingo Textbook and VISTAS Supplementary Reader are solved extensively, this book is also suitable for Std XII CBSE students,” adds Viegas, who holds a double major in psychology and education from Sophia College, Mumbai.

The book is available at leading book stores across Goa.
