Jovel Martins nets a brace in their 5-0 win
Curtorim: Agxem SC cruised into the semifinal of the Silver Jubilee Cup with a 5-1 win over Damdolem SC at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim on Sunday.
Despite a bright start from Damdolem, who opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Jaibon Hilario, the early advantage quickly faded. Agxem responded within five minutes as Michael Paes slotted home the equaliser, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Alroy Gomes put Agxem ahead in the 20th minute, handing them a 2-1 lead going into the break.
The second half belonged entirely to Agxem SC. Jovel Martins struck twice in quick succession, in the 35th and 40th minutes,increasing the gap and leaving the Damdolem defenders clueless. Joel Paes capped off the win with a fifth goal in the 45th minute, sealing an authoritative display.
Jovel Martins was named Man of the Match for his standout performance, receiving the award from Jose Castanha.
