The Margao Purument Fest 2026 was recently organised by Goemkaranchi Girestkai in collaboration with Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) and the Directorate of Rural Development at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.

The two-day fest featured over 40 stalls representing villages and constituencies of South Goa. Visitors explored traditional purument products such as pickles, jams, masalas, Goan sweets, coconut crafts, pottery, bamboo and coir items, dry fish, heritage rice varieties, kokum products and more. A dedicated food court served authentic Goan cuisine and non-alcoholic beverages.

The festival was aimed to empower local artisans, women’s SHGs and traditional producers while promoting organic, homemade and seasonal produce.

Dignitaries present included MLA, Margao Constituency Digambar Kamat; chairperson of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Rajendra Talak; project director DRDA South – Goa SRLM, Deepali Naik; and COO – Goa SRLM, Sangam Patil.
