The right-hand side of the existing NH-66 from the approach road of A2 near Neo Majestic Hotel up to Gauri Petrol Pump at Porvorim will remain closed for all vehicular traffic from May 27 to June 15.

As part of the traffic management plan, vehicles travelling from Panaji towards Mapusa will be diverted through the left-hand side service road near Neo Majestic Hotel. The connecting road from Pundalik Nagar near P82 close to the Delfino’s junction will also remain closed to traffic.

However, vehicles
travelling towards Mapusa from Betim will be allowed to use the existing right-hand side service road of NH-66 from P85 near Gauri Petrol Pump.

Executive Engineer, Work Division-VII (NH), PWD, Panaji ordered the temporary closure of the stretch of the highway to facilitate ongoing development works.

PWD authorities said
that adequate arrangements would be made to provide safe and suitable access to local residents
and commercial establishments along the affected stretch through designated entry points.

The diversion has been planned to ensure speedy completion of the project while maintaining the safety of commuters and workers at the site. Commuters have been urged to follow traffic diversions, obey road signage and cooperate with traffic police personnel during the closure period to avoid congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement in the area.
