The Candelaria Chapel, formerly known as Kasnichem Kopel, conducted the liturgical services during the Trezena in honour of St. Anthony recently, which culminated on June 13 on the feast
day of St. Anthony.
The feast Mass was celebrated by Fr. Walter de Sa, along with Fr. Urbino Monteiro. Following the Mass, the parishioners participated in a penitential procession, making their way to another chapel dedicated to St. Anthony. Upon reaching the chapel, the Chaplain recited a special prayer and imparted his blessing upon all the faithful gathered there. The celebrations concluded with the faithful singing of the traditional hymn
‘Sant Antoni Bhokta’.
The chapel was originally built in 1558 and since been relocated and rebuilt along National Highway 66.
