With the state BJP set to get a new president, Transport Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho said the incumbent president Sadanand Shet Tanavade should continue in his post “as no other candidate is better than or equal to him”.
“Any changes can be risky for the party in 2027 state elections,” he said.
Speaking during the induction ceremony of BJP Dabolim block president Sachin Chowgule, he said, “Tanavade handles everybody well. He knows how to deal with situations. Looking at his calibre, he was even made a Rajya Sabha MP. Presently, nobody is equally good or even better to be appointed in his place. As a minister, I will put forward my suggestions before the party, or else the party might face challenges in 2027.”
Tanavade was present for the induction ceremony of Dabolim president and Mormugao BJP block president Avinash Naik. Tanavade said that “right from beginning, the BJP has taken steps for the welfare of people of India. Soon we will have One Nation One Election implemented. Congress tried to spread false narrative regarding BJP. They said BJP will change the Constitution. However, data says that changes were done 106 times since independence.”
