They beat Reliance FYC 3-0 to top Zonal Group table

Mapusa: Dempo SC sealed their place in the national stage of the Reliance Foundation Development League with a commanding 3-0 victory over Reliance FYC in the Zonal Stage at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.

Mevan Dias set the tone early, putting Dempo ahead in the ninth minute with a composed finish. The Golden Eagles maintained control throughout, and shortly after the restart, Rahul Rodrigues doubled their advantage in the 49th minute. Rohan Mangaonkar then capped off a dominant display with a stoppage-time strike (90+2’) to complete the rout.

Both sides picked up bookings, with Lalmuanpuia and Raj Sanyasi cautioned for Reliance, while Dempo’s Rahul Rodrigues and Salgeo Dias were shown yellow cards.

In another fixture at the same venue, FC Goa secured a 2-0 win over Mumbai City FC. Likson Rebello and Malsawmthluanga found the net to guide the Gaurs to a crucial victory.
