Dempo SC’s Goa Pro League head coach Remus Gomes has been named assistant coach of the India U-19 men’s national team ahead of the SAFF U-19 Championship 2025, scheduled to take place in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh from May 9 to 18.
Gomes, will assist head coach Bibiano Fernandes, as the Blue Colts gear up to defend their title. The All India Football Federation announced a 35-member probable squad, currently training at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru.
India have been placed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka and Nepal, with their campaign set to kick off against Sri Lanka on May 9. They will next face Nepal on May 13. Group A comprises Maldives, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals on May 16, with the final set for May 18 — all matches to be played at the Golden Jubilee Stadium.
