Perfectly fine, says CM Sawant after medical check-up in Pune hospital

Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday assured his supporters and well-wishers that he was completely fine after undergoing a series of medical tests in Maharashtra.

Sawant was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Thursday evening and discharged on Friday afternoon.

According to the hospital authorities, the Chief Minister was brought in for evaluation and routine investigations. In a video statement, chairperson of Ruby Hall Clinic Dr Purvez Grant said that Sawant’s condition remained stable throughout and there was no immediate cause for concern. He said that all the reports were normal.

Sawant on Friday virtually joined the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, and the Government of Goa under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0.

Sawant virtually joined the signing of the MoU in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, Goa Minister for Drinking Water and Social Welfare  Subhash Phal Dessai and senior officials.

The Chief Minister released a video stating that he was discharged from the hospital on Friday afternoon. “Currently I am in Pune with my family. I will come back to Goa by Saturday and resume duties,” he said.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Sawant’s visit to the Pune hospital was not linked to any serious ailment but was a part of routine health check-ups. The office said that there has been no disruption in governance, with the administrative work continuing as scheduled.

Officials further said that the Chief Minister is expected to resume his official duties immediately after his return to the state. Any pending engagements during his brief hospitalisation have been rescheduled. Further updates are expected once the Chief Minister reaches Goa and resumes charge.
