Five Star CC recorded a commanding 67-run victory over Chopde CCC in the GCA C Division at Chapora panchayat ground on Friday, thanks to a balanced performance with both bat and ball.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Five Star laid a solid foundation with 241 all out in 39.3 overs. Sandesh Samarth (38) anchored the innings, while Parshuram Tari (32) and Kumar Rathod (31) provided crucial support to ensure a challenging total. Chopde’s Ankit Parab was the pick of the bowlers with 3–30, supported by Laxman Naik (2–56) and Hanish (2–36), who managed to keep the scoring in check at times.
In response, Chopde CCC struggled to maintain momentum, finishing 174 for 9 in 40 overs. Ankit Parab (52) and Swayam Mashelkar (50) fought valiantly, offering resistance against a disciplined Five Star attack. However, Faizan Mohammed (4–29) spearheaded the bowling effort, with Kumar Rathod (3–24) and Om Madgaonkar (1–26) providing critical breakthroughs to ensure the visitors never threatened the target.
