Mapusa

Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday visited Mapusa and interacted with BJP North Goa district committee members and booth-level workers, focusing on strengthening the party organisation and increasing its vote share ahead of upcoming elections.

Nabin first visited the BJP North Goa district office in Mapusa, where he was welcomed with traditional dhol-tasha. He later held a meeting with district committee members in the presence of BJP state president Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik, Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, North Goa BJP president Dayanand Karbotkar, youth president Tushar Kelkar and party functionary Rupesh Kamat.

Earlier, the BJP national president also visited the residence of a party worker in booth number 21, which falls under the ward of Mapusa Municipal Council chairperson Priya Mishal. He interacted with booth committee members during the meeting, which was also attended by booth president Atharv Divkar and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza.

Speaking to the media, D’Souza said the interaction with the national president was an opportunity for party workers to receive guidance on organisational strengthening and improving vote share. He said the advice was significant in view of forthcoming municipal elections followed by the Assembly elections.
