Panaji: Burglars targeted the bungalow of a businessman on the Kadamba Plateau on Sunday night, decamping with various valuables, Old Goa police said on Wednesday.
Police said that while the homeowner has not yet provided an exact valuation of the stolen property, reports suggest that gold jewellery worth over Rs 8 lakh is believed to have been stolen.
According to police, the businessman and his family members were fast asleep at the time of the heist. Investigators believe the burglars gained entry through a door that had apparently been left unlocked. The family members were unharmed during the incident, said police.
