Dhargal resort project: WRD gives approval to supply 1.75 MLD water

The executive engineer of the Water Resources Department (works division VII) has issued a no objection to allot 1.75 MLD of raw water to Delta Corp Limited for its proposed integrated resort development project at Dhargal in Pernem.

In a letter addressed to the company, the WRD executive engineer said there was no objection to allotting 1.75 MLD of raw water to Delta Corp Pvt Ltd, subject to certain conditions.

The conditions state that the water supplied will be chargeable as per government notifications. The company will have to bear the entire cost of constructing the outlet and installing metering arrangements.

The department said its first priority would be departmental requirements such as irrigation and drinking water supply.

The company has also been directed to obtain all permissions required under law from the government, local elected bodies and other government or semi-government authorities. The department has reserved the right to stop or curtail the water supply at any time without prior notice, and the company
will not be entitled to claim any compensation, damages or legal remedy in such
a situation.

The letter has been signed by Yatin Shirodkar, executive engineer, works division
VII, WRD.
