The work on the Development of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Digital Museum at Farmagudi, Ponda, is 22 per cent complete, the state government said.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2026.
The government has initiated the establishment of a Digital Museum at Farmagudi, aimed at developing the fort as a prominent tourist destination.
The project focuses on attracting high tourist footfall and promoting integrated, planned and sustainable site development to offer a complete tourism experience.
“The Digital Museum is designed to showcase the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a modern format, educating and inspiring visitors while fostering a sense of patriotism. Initiated in 2025, the project has achieved 22 per cent completion, and based on the current progress and resource alignment, it is projected to be completed by June, 2026,” the state government said.
Meanwhile, the work on the development of town square project has been completed to the tune of 28 per cent, and the entire project, Porvorim, is likely to be completed by January 2027.
“The project includes underground parking for 200 vehicles (including two-wheelers), an amphitheatre, entrance plaza, kiosk with cafeteria, toilet block and land development. Initiated in 2024, the project has achieved 28 per cent completion and is projected to be completed by January, 2027 based on current progress,” the state government said.
