MSME Aadhar Stambh, a dedicated support cell for micro, small and medium enterprises will be launched by Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), on March 5. It will be inaugurated by Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho.
Speaking at a press conference, GCCI president Pratima Dhond said that the new cell will serve as a comprehensive support
platform for existing MSMEs and inspire local entrepreneurs.
“The main objectives of this MSME cell are guiding and mentorship by GCCI members, information and advisory support, capacity building, facilitation of
access to finance, promoting enterprises and entrepreneurship, and policy feedback and advocacy,” she said.
Dhond said Manguirish Pai Raikar will mentor the MSME Aadhar Stambh, while Ashutosh Kharangate will serve as convener.
She said GCCI proposes to strengthen the MSME sector in Goa, improve ease of doing business, increase the number of sustainable start-ups and self-employment entrepreneurs, and spread awareness about utilisation of government schemes.
Raikar said, “When most of these small scale units, especially micro units, start they tend to fumble at different stages,” adding that the chamber has identified these stages and will help them overcome such stumbling blocks.
It was informed that financial clinics, export orientation programmes and related conclaves will be organised during the year following the launch.
Kharangate said the mentorship cell will receive guidance from invitees, individuals and organisations from across India and abroad. He added that Goan MSMEs must be aware of market linkages for growth.
MSMEs seeking to avail themselves of the cell’s support will need to register with GCCI.
