Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said Goa has the potential to become the creative capital in the future and stressed the need to build and support creativity among children.
“Today we cannot rely on traditional education for our children, we have to think outside the box and there is a lot of scope in creativity. Even the National Education Policy tells us to identify a child’s talent and push it forward. The Goa government is also working on improving the state’s happiness index and is thinking of way to take our Gen Z forward creatively,” said Sawant.
He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the third edition of the Bulbul Children’s International Film Festival at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
He also said that the festival would continue in the coming years.
“The films and activities that have been held here will help our children and, in the future, maybe even help shape the next best director, actor or producer. The films that have been shown here are innovative and promote research and technology that can be seen in other countries, which is very important for our Gen Z,” he said.
PWD Minister Digambar Kamat said that the festival has become an important one for the state.
“It has been held not just for the children but for parents and teachers, too,”
