Goa has been allocated
Rs 398 crore as its share of the Union government’s advance tax devolution for August 2026, as the Centre released Rs 1,09,019 crore to all states in a special instalment aimed at boosting capital and development expenditure.
The advance release is over and above the regular monthly tax devolution scheduled for August 10.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the additional release has been made to strengthen the finances of state governments and enable them to accelerate infrastructure projects, developmental works and other capital expenditure.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the release of the funds.
Sawant, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said that the timely release would further strengthen Goa’s development journey by enabling faster execution of infrastructure projects, enhancing public service delivery and driving inclusive growth.
He added that it reflects the Centre’s commitment to cooperative federalism and empowering states in building a Viksit Bharat.
