13,288 sqm of land declared as investment promotion area under single window clearance mechanism

Panaji : The state government on Thursday green signalled a new warehouse project of M/s Express Machines & Scaffolding Pvt Ltd in Loutolim under the single window clearance regulation of the Goa Investment Promotion & Facilitation (Goa- IPB).

Accordingly, 13,288 square  metres of land in the village has been  declared as investment promotion area and reserved for the project.

The land is privately owned and purchased by Express Machines. As per the notification issued by the government, the project was submitted for approval to the IPB on October 8, 2024, after which the government proposed reserving the land for industrial development on May 5, this year. The proposal was cleared following the end of window-period for receiving objections.

The land reserved for the project in Loutolim comes under a field. Of the total project land, 1,205 sq m is in survey no: 255/2-B, 1,178 sq m  in survey 255/2- C, and  10,905 sq m in survey 255/2-D.

With the land declared as investment promotion area, the chief executive officer of the IPB is now the sole authority over the land for the collection of taxes, fees and other dues from local authorities as well as collection of house tax, other taxes, etc. in respect of the said area.
