With the aim of optimising its online presence and enhancing profitability, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will appoint an online channel management agency to prepare a comprehensive tariff policy and pricing strategy tailored for GTDC residencies on online
booking platforms.

“The agency will conduct diagnostics, benchmarking, and strategic interventions to enhance profitability across online channels,” GTDC said.

GTDC is in the process of formulating its dynamic room tariff policy on reservation portals, online travel agents’ portals and the GTDC website for its hotels and resorts.

“The project is expected to serve as a demonstration for the tourism sector on how to refine, promote and implement tariff policy in a manner that takes into consideration changes in market forces, tourism trends, expectations of tourists, facilities allotted, etc,” GTDC said.

“To cover the organisational and implementation aspects of the project, it will require framing historic data analysis and market analysis to set out general procedures for planning and fixing a dynamic room tariff policy on reservation portals, online travel agents’ portals and the GTDC website,” GTDC said, adding that the prime objective of the agency is to prepare a comprehensive dynamic room tariff policy and make it workable on online channels of GTDC hotels
and resorts.

The agency will also conduct diagnostics at all GTDC residencies to identify gaps, priority actions and initiatives for achieving a profitable tariff and pricing model via online channels, perform benchmarking studies against key competitors to formulate an effective pricing strategy, and develop and implement strategies for pricing, managing online channels, channel promotions, portal positioning, ranking optimisation, content enhancement, image updates, rate disparity management and dynamic pricing, among others.

Additionally, the agency will manage relationships with online portals to ensure seamless operations and performance, and identify priority interventions to improve online business processes in key areas, boosting profitability for
GTDC residencies.
