A convicted drug offender allegedly operating a narcotics distribution network from the Central Jail, Colvale, has led Goa Crime Branch police to two alleged associates in Delhi, from whose possession drugs worth around Rs 40 lakh were seized.
Based on intelligence shared by the Goa Crime Branch, a team of the Delhi Crime Branch arrested Moosan Mukhiri and Mohammed Faizan, both natives of Kannur, Kerala, from a location in Delhi.
During the raid, police seized 151 grams of methamphetamine and 512 grams of magic mushrooms, collectively valued at around Rs 40 lakh.
The Goa Crime Branch was probing a drug case registered in June 2026, in which it had arrested Abhiram Pulikkal, 26, a native of Kozhikode, Kerala, and seized 11.5 grams of methamphetamine and 9.07 grams of MDMA worth around Rs 2.65 lakh.
Police said that during custodial interrogation and technical analysis, Pulikkal’s links with Azrudeen Achi alias Asaru came to light.
Asaru is a convicted accused in an NDPS case and was allegedly operating a drug distribution network from the Central Jail, Colvale. The Crime Branch subsequently obtained Asaru’s custody through the court for further investigation.
The probe identified Mukhiri and Faizan as his alleged associates operating from Delhi.
Goa police shared the intelligence with the Delhi Crime Branch, which subsequently conducted a raid and arrested the two accused. Goa police said necessary legal steps were being taken to obtain their custody for further investigation.
