The legislative Assembly
on Friday passed supplementary demands of Rs 141 crore for the current financial year.

Speaking on the Goa Appropriation Bill 2026 (third batch) pertaining to the supplementary demands, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the current fiscal budget is revenue surplus at Rs 1,423 crore and that the amount sought under the supplementary demands is not additional.

He further stated that despite having a borrowing limit of Rs 4,500 crore for the financial year 2025–26, the government has availed only Rs 1,200 crore as a loan, which he said is meant for infrastructural development and not for entertainment purposes.

Earlier, while speaking on the supplementary demands, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai, Revolutionary Goans Party MLA Viresh Borkar and Aam Aadmi Party MLA Venzy Viegas criticised the government for seeking additional funds under supplementary demands while neglecting core issues and denying financial support for essential works.

Alemao and Sardesai said that law and order has collapsed in Goa with rising numbers of public agitations across the state, alleging that the government has failed to address issues concerning
the people.

Borkar criticised the government for neglecting the agriculture sector, while Viegas blamed it for not taking steps to address the issue of Goans stranded in Gulf countries following the war.
