A Kadamba Transport Corporation bus service has been launched at the Verna Industrial Estate, addressing a long-pending demand for intra-estate connectivity for industrial workers.

It will run daily from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm on a continuous loop starting from Titan Junction, covering key areas across the industrial estate and returning to
Titan Junction.

“The introduction of this bus service will significantly benefit industrial workers by improving their mobility within the estate. He further noted that the initiative will contribute to the well-being of workers, enhance productivity, and support MSMEs in the industrial estate,” Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Chairman AleixoReginaldo Lourenco said after flagging off the service.

The service was launched by the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) in collaboration with Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL).

A flat fare of Rs 10 has been fixed for the service. The GIDC will provide viability gap funding to support operations. At present, one bus has been deployed under the initiative. President of the Goa State Industries Association Pradip da Costa stated that the service addresses a long pending demand of the industry. “The early morning operations will be particularly beneficial for workers reporting for the 7 am shift and will improve workforce movement across the estate, especially for women workers,” he said, adding that additional buses may be required in the future based on demand.
