The state government has secured 3,801 sqm of land in Ayodhya to construct Goa Ram Nivas, which will ensure a dedicated facility for Goan devotees visiting the temple town for Shree Ram Darshan, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.

“This initiative will deepen the state’s spiritual and cultural ties with the holy city,” said Sawant, while replying to demands in the state legislative assembly on Tuesday night.

He informed the House that the government is also considering acquiring land in Velankanni to build a bhavan for Goan pilgrims. Sawant also announced plans to build a Goa Bhavan for pilgrims at Pandharpur. “This will also ensure a dedicated stay for Goan devotees visiting there,” Sawant said.

Assuring that the long-pending works of the Kala Academy would be expedited, Sawant said the government would soon issue a work order and begin repair and renovation of Ravindra Bhavan in Margao within a week. Similarly, he said other such cultural centres such as  Rajiv Kala  Bhavan will also be taken up for repairs. He also said that the main administrative building will come up at Kadamba plateau.

He said Rs 100 crore has been allocated for development works in each constituency, adding that Panaji has already exceeded that amount. “The Finance Department has started tracking the budget expenditure of each constituency,” Sawant said. The Chief Minister also  informed the House that 62,000 government staff have been registered on the iGOTKarmayogi platform and are undergoing online training.

He announced that the Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Nidhi Yojana would soon be launched to “provide substantial grants to women through RDA, aimed at empowering grassroots entrepreneurship”.

“With the support of the Goa government, 11,000 lakhpatididis will be empowered in the state,” Sawant said.

He said road safety audits are being conducted and  black spots are being acted upon.  He also stated that AI-based signals will be installed at 91 junctions.

Sawant also stated that the government has taken steps to clear scrap vehicles lying in various parts of the state, within the next three months.

Regarding irregularities in the excise department, he said that inquiry is on against 17 persons and two staffers have been suspended.

He also said that provision of water filters will be made in all government schools within three months. Sawant also complimented Purvi Ritesh Nayak for winning medals at Junior National in the last two days.
