Curchorem: Villagers of Mirabag and representatives from surrounding areas, along with NGOs, political party representatives, media persons, and others who supported their agitation, celebrated their

victory by organising a get-together at the protest site at Mirabag on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking on the occasion, Fatorda MLA and GFP chief Vijay Sardesai said that the agitation of the Mirabag villagers will go down in Goa’s history.

“The government tried to crush the agitation. However, the unity of the villagers won and showed that if Goans unitedly fight for a cause then ultimately they will win ,” he said.

Leader of the agitating villagers Sanket Bhandari said that without support from people from different sections of society, the agitation could not have been a success. Ex-MLA Deepak Pauskar congratulated housewives. “It is not an easy task, attending household chores and simultaneously attending the agitation,” he said.

NGO Abhijit Pra   bhudesai was among those who spoke on the occasion.
