Maha Sammelan.

The delegation, comprising president Kennedy Afonso and secretary Michael Gracias, held discussions on
preparations for the first Konknni Sahitya ani Sonskrutik Maha Sammelan scheduled to be held on May 30.

Present at the meeting were Louis Pinto, president of Mandd Shobann; Stanny Alvares, president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademi; Richard Moras, president of Konknni Lekakancho Sangh, Karnataka; Ronnie Arun, administrator of Mandd Shobann; and Donald Pereira of Budkulo.com. The meeting was held at Kalaangann, Mangaluru, where various literary and cultural aspects of the Maha Sammelan were discussed in detail.

Afonso said it has been decided to invite delegates and speakers
from Konkani associations representing all five scripts of the language to take part in group discussions and cultural programmes.

He said plans have been drawn up to mobilise Konkani community groups from
Kerala, Mumbai, Karwar, Sawantwadi and Mangalore to attend the
