Rs 3cr spent on ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’, govt admits no audit conducted

The Goa government spent Rs 3.65 crore on the 12 ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ programmes organised in the year 2021 and 2022. In Ponda, it was organised for the first time this year, however, the expenditure bills of this event were yet
to be submitted.

This information was revealed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the session of the legislative assembly held recently.

As per the general administration department, the programmes Sarkar Tumchya Dari and Janta Darbar are aimed at reaching the citizen-centric initiatives and schemes of the government of Goa to
the people.

However, it also said that no review, audit, or impact assessment has been conducted of the said initiative.

According to the information, the state government through the general administration department organised 10 Sarkar Tumchya Dari programmes in 2021, ahead of the 2022 Goa legislative assembly election, 2 programmes later in 2022 and one in 2026.

In 2021, the government held the Sarkar Tumchya Dari programme in Bardez where Rs 2,46,128 was spent; similarly, in Canacona Rs 37,51,801, in Bicholim Rs 31,08,120, in Pernem Rs 30,76,403, in Mormugao Rs 29,32,443, in Salcete Rs 40,30,145, in Tiswadi Rs 31,08,120, in Quepem Rs 31,11,803 and again in Bardez Rs 31,08,120.

In 2022, Rs 31,11,803 was the cost incurred to organise the Sarkar Tumchya Dari programme in Shiroda – Ponda and in Sanguem a whopping Rs 70,08,120
was spent.

Earlier in February, such programme was held in Ponda. However, the government has stated that the bill of the programme is yet to be submitted.
