Panaji: Social activist Rama Kankonkar has appealed to political parties, social organisations and activists to unite for Goa. Kankonkar has been on a hunger strike at Azad Maidan since August 1. The protest is scheduled to continue until August 15.
The activist has placed 11 demands before the government, including concerns over what he described as uncontrolled land conversions in the state.
Describing the protest as his “last try and last cry”, Kankonkar appealed to people to set aside their differences and work together to protect the state’s interests.
