Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, on Friday, hit out at the Congress’s ‘Goy Rakhan Yatra’, saying Goa is moving on the path of development under the BJP’s ‘double engine’ government.
He expressed confidence that people would once again bring the BJP to power in the state.
Questioning the need for organising such yatras, Sawant said leaders should instead tell the public about the actual work undertaken for Goa.
“There is no need to organise such ‘khotyo rakhan yatra’. People have seen how many ‘outsiders’ are part of this yatra,” he said, speaking after the inauguration of the BJP E-Library at Atal Bhavan, the BJP office at Kadamba Plateau.
Referring to the yatra’s agenda of protecting Goa, Sawant said, “If Goa was to be protected, why was it not protected before? Currently, Goa is on the path of development under the BJP’s double engine government and under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Sawant said the people would definitely support the BJP’s vision of developing ‘Viksit Goa and Swayampurna Goa’.
September 25 marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, which is celebrated as Antyodaya Diwas. To commemorate the occasion, an E-Library was inaugurated at Atal Bhavan.
Sawant said the facility is directly linked with the BJP’s Central Library at its national headquarters.
The platform allows party workers free access to study central policy decisions, administrative reforms, state development models and legislation passed under Modi’s government, Sawant said.
“The E-Library is also accessible free of charge to students, scholars and general citizens of Goa upon obtaining prior permission from the party president,” Sawant said.
State party president Damodar Naik said Upadhyaya dedicated his life to national service and laid the foundation for the Jana Sangh, the predecessor of the BJP.
