Deputy Collector and SDM of Quepem Manohar Karekar has passed an order under Section 163 of the BNS 2023 directing M/S Indian Oil Adani Gas Pvt Ltd to remove and clear the entire CNG storage and distribution facility installed at Cacora within seven days from the date of receipt of the order.

The company has been directed to clear the land of all materials and restore to its original condition.

The deputy collector warned that if the company failed to comply within the stipulated period, the Quepem mamlatdar will, within two days thereafter, remove and dismantle the entire facility through competent authorities.

“All costs incurred for removal of the facility and restoration of the land shall be recoverable from M/S Indian Oil Adani Gas Pvt Ltd as arrears of land revenue under the Goa Land Revenue Code, 1968 and rules framed thereunder,” said the order.

It may be recalled that Karekar had issued a show cause notice to the company in respect of construction activities and storage of hazardous CNG cylinders.
