Four incidents of tree falls were reported at different locations in Mormugao taluka during the last 24 hours. A shop and an electricity department transformer were damaged, though no casualties were reported.

A Gulmohar tree fell on an electricity department transformer and overhead power lines near the Vasco vegetable market on Tuesday, disrupting power supply in parts of the area for several hours. Fire service personnel and workers of the Mormugao Municipal Council removed the fallen tree, after which electricity department officials carried out repairs and restored power supply.

At 6.05 am on Tuesday, another tree fell on a road near Kamat Building at Mangor Hill. Fire service personnel cleared the obstruction and restored traffic movement.

On Monday, a large tree fell on the road at Rumdawada on the Jetty-Sada route, obstructing traffic. Another tree fell on a shop near T.B. Cunha Circle in Vasco, damaging the establishment, according to information from the fire department. A coconut tree near Mother of Mercy School at Vaddem, Dabolim came into contact with a power line and caught fire during the rain. Fire service personnel were dispatched to the site and took the necessary safety measures.
