The Goa State Election Commission has issued a public notice initiating the process of delimitation of municipal wards for the upcoming 2026 general elections to 11 municipal councils across the state.

The draft ward delimitation has been made available for public inspection from March 31 to April 7, excluding April 3 and 5, being a public holiday and Sunday, during office hours at the offices of the concerned Mamlatdar (AERO) and Chief Officer of the respective municipal councils.

The exercise will determine the number and territorial extent of wards in municipal areas, including Pernem, Valpoi, Bicholim, Mapusa, Mormugao, Margao, Cuncolim, Quepem, Canacona, Curchorem-Cacora and Sanguem.

As part of the process, deputy collectors and sub-divisional officers of the respective talukas have been appointed as electoral registration officers (EROs), while mamlatdars will function as assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) to assist in the exercise.

Citizens have been invited to submit suggestions, modifications, corrections or objections regarding the draft to the concerned ERO by 5 pm on April 7, 2026.
