Sai Avatar beat Parish Youth Nuvem 2-0

Benaulim: Sai Avatar Anjuna advanced to the semifinals of the 46th Cana Benaulim Soccer Championship with a 2-0 win over Parish Youth Nuvem, at St John the Baptist ground, Dando, Benaulim on Sunday.

Anjuna displayed control over the midfield with  attackers Kreepal and Mohammed Adur troubling the Nuvem defence with swift moves.

However, Nuvem defense held firm. At halftime the score remained 0-0.

In the second half, Nuvem came close in the 35th minute, but Anjuna goalkeeper Soma Korgaokar pulled off a fine save to deny Joywin Costa.

Kreepal opened the scoring in the 38th minute and doubled the lead in the 44th with a powerful strike. Nuvem pushed hard to get back in the game, but Anjuna’s defence remained solid.

Kreepal’s two goals and overall performance made him the standout player of the match, guiding Anjuna into the final four.
