Ponda BC, DBO, KJs storm into quarters

Ponda Basketball Club, DBO Panjim, and KJs booked their quarterfinal spots with dominant wins on Day Two of the State Senior Basketball Championships for Men and Women, co-sponsored by Priority Constructions and organised by Lourdes Basketball Club under the Goa Basketball Association and the Sports Authority of Goa. The action at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, featured fast-paced play and standout individual efforts.

Ponda Basketball Club defeated Siolim Basketeers 62–42, with captain Mangesh Pawar leading the charge with 25 points. Kunal Patil (11 pts) and Sanmay Bandekar (8 pts) added support, while Siolim’s Roger Fernandes and Neil D’Souza contributed 10 points each.

DBO Panjim swept past PCCE Pacers 60–20, driven by Avner Mendonca (11 pts), who continued his strong form following his Sonics U17 MVP run. Jairam Agni (12 pts) and Kevin D’Souza (8 pts) also impressed, with Vitor Rodrigues scoring 14 pts for PCCE.

In the final game, KJs overpowered Thunder Dribblers 44–13.
