Stating that the issue of potholes on roads will be resolved on priority, Minister for Public Works Digambar Kamat on Wednesday said his immediate focus will be to improve Goa’s road network.

Kamat held a review meeting with PWD officers to assess the condition of roads across Goa.

“The potholes issue will be resolved on priority,” said Kamat, who has also taken charge of the departments of Legal Metrology and Captain of Ports.

“The public works department plays a crucial role in infrastructure development, particularly in the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges,” Kamat said. “First, I will review the entire system with the Chief Engineer and others, and then decide the related policy,” he said and added that he followed the same approach when he was the power minister.”

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister and Panaji MLA Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate said the capital needs better roads. “I met the new Minister for Public Works today and he has assured me of repairing all ruined roads in Panaji,” he said.
