1,137 attend mega health camp in Sada
Vasco: A mega health camp held in Sada, Mormugao, on Sunday witnessed a turnout of over 1,137 people who availed various healthcare services.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, addressing the gathering via phone from Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar’s device, assured full support for setting up a 20-bed hospital and a dialysis center in Mormugao.
“Many have been elected from Mormugao, with some even serving as ministers, but no one has worked for the constituency the way Amonkar is”, Rane said. He said that a Primary Health Centre for Sada had been approved, with plans already cleared. “Until the PHC is ready, we will identify a location to start the dialysis center, which will later be shifted to the new premises once completed,” he said.
GMC’s Dr Jagdish Kakodkar, who is the overall incharge of the Mega Camp in Sada, said that, of the total persons examined, 706 were females and 430 males.
