Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary policies under the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative, and underscored his government’s consistent efforts in advancing infrastructure across the state.

Sawant, accompanied by four ministers, was speaking during a virtual foundation-laying ceremony for multiple developmental projects in Maina Curtorim.

“Let (Aleixo Reginaldo) Lourenco (Curtorim MLA) contest independently. We support him for the development of his constituency. I firmly believe people should rally behind and elect individuals who work for them,” Sawant said.

He said his government has invested thousands of crores in infrastructure projects, irrespective of political affiliations.

“My government resolved the legacy dump issue at Sonsoddo. Tell us what we haven’t accomplished in the past 10 years. We have built national highways, constructed bridges, inaugurated district hospitals, and initiated investigations into land-grabbing cases,” he said.

Sawant laid the foundation for several projects, including a Primary Health Centre at Curtorim, the Maina Curtorim Police Station at Sonsoddo Raia, underground power cabling, installation of new transformers, replacement of old water pipelines, road repairs, and soil conservation works at Camorlim.

Other initiatives include upgrading football grounds in Curtorim and Maina, installing high-mast lighting, building an Animal Husbandry Hospital at Sonsoddo-Raia, and establishing an Agriculture Machinery Physiotherapy Clinic and Citizen Service Centre in Curtorim and Raia.

To ensure transparency, details of the projects were displayed on screens, allowing the public to better understand the planned initiatives.
