An all-round performance from Aniket Parab powered Amona Cricketers to a 14-run win over Mayem Union Sports Clube in an entertaining clash at the Betim United Trophy held at SAG ground, Campal,
on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Amona Cricketers posted a competitive 149/7 in their allotted 18 overs. Parab led from the front with a fluent 72, anchoring the innings with timely boundaries and smart running between the wickets. He received valuable support from Uddesh Gawas (24) and Dinu Gawas (14), while late cameos from Chetan Govekar (12) helped push the total past 140.

In response, Mayem Union SC fell short despite a spirited chase. Vishal Parab top-scored with a fighting 46, while Viraj remained unbeaten on 33 and Pradip Harmalkar chipped in with 26. However, the Amona bowlers struck at crucial junctures to stifle the run flow.

Aniket Parab returned with the ball to further dent Mayem’s chase, claiming 3/22 in a match-winning spell. He was ably supported by Aniket Amonkar (2/17) and Dinu Gawas (1/12), who kept the pressure on during the middle overs. Mayem finished at 135/8, 14 runs short of the target.
