His late header secures Flaming Oranje a 1-0 victory over Chanmari

Bambolim: Sporting Clube de Goa edged past Chanmari FC with a 1-0 victory in their I-League 2 clash at the Bambolim Athletics Stadium on Wednesday, courtesy of a last-gasp strike from Biswa Darjee.

In a tense battle, both sides struggled to break the deadlock for most of the game, but it was Darjee who delivered the decisive moment deep into stoppage time. The midfielder rose highest in the 92nd minute to nod home a pinpoint cross from Myron Fernandes, sealing a crucial win for Flaming Oranje and extending their winning streak.

Sporting Clube started with Abhimanyu Singh between the posts, backed by a defensive line of Kunal Kundaikar, Sairuat Kima, Joyner Lourenco, and Myron Fernandes. The midfield was marshaled by Naocha Singh, Samuel Costa, Dattaraj Gaonkar, and Sushil Meitei, while Doyal Alves and Ronaldo Oliveira led the charge up front. Their bench featured Rana (GK), Dhiraj, Biswa, Joyson G, HP, Givson, Selwyn, Ivon, and Semboi. Despite Chanmari FC’s attacking intent, SC Goa’s defense held firm, making crucial interceptions to keep their opponents at bay. Chanmari, who remain on 19 points, suffered their second loss of the campaign, while Sporting Clube de Goa climbed to 15 points and solidified their place in the top three.
