Seraulim: CAC Cansaulim overcame Rising Club Uguem 7-5 on penalties to move into the quarterfinal of the 18th Seraulim Panchayat Cup at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
Cansaulim struck early, with Deepak Kadam opening the scoring in the 7th minute while Uguem equalised when Chiraj Gaunekar headed in the equaliser in the 29th minute.
The second half saw Uguem take the lead through Austin Coutinho in the 37th minute, but Cansaulim hit back once again, with Kadam completing his brace to restore parity and force a tiebreaker.
At fulltime the score was 1-1. In the shootout, Cansaulim converted all their attempts through Dexter Fernandes, Melvin Gama, Jesus D’Sa, Domnic Spares and Alrico Cardoza. Uguem found the net via Israel Gomes, Austin Coutinho and Piyush Gaonkar but fell short.
