Snehal’s 241 helps them amass 646/9d; Chowgule 128/3 in reply

Porvorim: Dempo Cricket Club tightened their grip on the Goa Premier Division League 2025–26 final with an all-round display against Chowgule Sports Club, ending Day 2 with a massive 518-run lead.

Resuming from an already strong position, Dempo piled on the runs to declare at a daunting 646 for 9, built around a monumental 241 from captain Snehal Kauthankar. The right-hander dominated proceedings with a blend of control and authority, striking 35 boundaries in a marathon 271-ball innings.

He was well supported by Aman Dhoopar (124) and Jeevan Chittem (101), as Dempo’s top and middle order ensured the innings never lost momentum. Abhinav Tej Rana added a brisk 70, while late contributions from Mohit Yadav and Kutbudin Jamadar pushed the total well beyond the 600-mark.

For Chowgule, Darshan Misal and Shubham Desai picked up three wickets each, but the bowlers struggled to contain Dempo’s relentless scoring rate.

In reply, Chowgule endured a cautious start under pressure. Gauresh Kambli stood tall with an unbeaten 71, anchoring the innings amid regular setbacks. Swapnesh Naik chipped in with 18, but wickets at intervals stalled any momentum.

Dempo’s bowlers kept things tight, with Abhinav Tej Rana claiming two wickets and Mohit Yadav adding one, leaving Chowgule at 128 for 3 at stumps—still trailing by 518 runs.
