Sporting Clube de Goa were held to a 1–1 draw by CD Salgaocar in their Goa Professional League Super League match at Duler Stadium on Tuesday.

Sporting took the lead in the first half through Rohan Rodrigues, but Salgaocar equalised after the break through Joshua D’Silva as both teams shared the spoils.

Sporting went ahead when Ivon Costa threaded a precise through ball from their own half that split the Salgaocar defence on the left flank. Rohan Rodrigues ran onto the pass and calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Sanij Bugde, who managed to get a touch but could not stop it from crossing the line.

Salgaocar attempted to respond when Selwyn Miranda fired a shot from outside the box, but Sporting goalkeeper Abhimanyu Singh reacted well to punch the effort away.

Sporting nearly doubled their advantage after the drinks break when Prince Figueredo chipped a ball into the path of Doyal Alves, whose low-driven shot was stopped by Bugde. Rodrigues later whipped in a dangerous low cross across the Salgaocar goalmouth, but the ball went begging with no Sporting player able to connect.

Salgaocar threatened through a long ball played behind the Sporting defence for Salvador Gama, but Abhimanyu Singh stood his ground and palmed the shot away for a corner.

CD Salgaocar found the equaliser in the second half when Isaac Zomuanpuia delivered a long ball into the box for Joshua D’Silva. Challenging the goalkeeper one-on-one, Joshua headed the ball towards the first post. The effort struck the left post before slowly rolling into the net off the opposite post.

Salgaocar had another chance from a corner taken by Wendal Coelho. The initial clearance left the ball loose inside the box and Joshua D’Silva reacted quickly to fire towards goal, but Sporting midfielder Ivon Costa made a crucial goal-line clearance to deny a late winner.
