Navhind to meet Prudent in semifinal

Navhind Publications will face Prudent Media in the first semifinal of the Inter-Media T10 Cricket Tournament organised by the Sports Journalists Association Goa in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa and the Goa Cricket Association at the Panjim Gymkhana on Thursday. Defending champions Times of India take on Goan Varta in the second semi-final, with the final scheduled for 2.30 p.m. the same day.

Navhind Publications booked their semi-final berth with a 48-run win over Prime TV.

Manish Parab anchored the innings with 44 as Navhind posted 109/6, supported by Mahesh Gaonkar (14) and Nandesh Kambli (10). Prime TV were then bowled out for 61 in 8.3 overs.

Sahil Naik produced a match-defining spell of 7-8, dismantling the chase, while Hemant Parab added 2-2. Naik was adjudged Man of the Match.

Earlier, Prudent Media topped their group with two victories.

They first posted 107/4 against AIR DD, powered by Pavan Zantye’s 37, alongside contributions from Laxman Gavandi (21) and Praveen Gad (19). AIR DD were limited to 58/3 in reply, as Prudent sealed a 49-run win. Zantye was named Man of the Match.

In their second outing, Prudent compiled 121/3 against the Electronic Media team. Gavandi struck an unbeaten 47, while Abhijeet Jadhav (16), Zantye (16) and Sushant Gawas (14) ensured a strong finish. The bowlers restricted the opposition to 76/5, with Gawas claiming 2-14, completing a 45-run triumph. Gavandi earned the Man of the Match award.
