They edge past Geno SC in a tense Super Over final

Sanguem: Chowgule SC lifted the Goa Premier Division League T-20 title after defeating Geno Sports Club in a tense Super Over final at the GCA ground in Sanguem-Cotarli.

The summit clash produced a thrilling finish as both sides ended tied on 191 runs after 20 overs, forcing the contest into a Super Over where Chowgule held their composure to emerge champions.

Chowgule posted 191 for 4 after being powered by Sanath Nevagi’s explosive 82 off 52 balls, an innings featuring nine sixes. Madhur Yadav added stability with 59, while Sanket Morajkar accelerated late with a rapid unbeaten 24 off nine deliveries. Pundalik Naik and Mehank Dharwadkar picked up two wickets each for Geno.

In reply, Geno launched a fierce chase through Veer Yadav, who blasted 66 from only 23 balls, while Manthan Khutkar struck a valuable half-century. The match went down to the final over before Geno were bowled out for 191, drawing level with Chowgule. Shubham Tari delivered a crucial spell for the eventual champions, finishing with 3 for 34. The Super Over tilted decisively in Chowgule’s favour after Felix Alemao restricted Geno to just six runs, with one batter dismissed and another run out.

Needing seven to win, Chowgule sealed the title in style as Darshan Misal launched a six in the third ball of the over to spark celebrations. The presentation ceremony was attended by Mahesh Dessai and other officials.
