Peddem: VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, emerged overall champions in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Judo Championship 2026-27 held at the SAG Multipurpose Hall, Peddem.
PES’s Ravi S Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, finished runners-up, while Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, secured third place.
Arif Nawar of Damodar College was adjudged Best Judoka after winning the gold medal in the under-81kg category. Damodar College also struck gold through Niyaaz Shaikh (+100kg), while contributing to the overall title with several podium finishes across weight categories.
Gold medals were also won by Nippu Yadav (under-60kg), Manindra Singh (under-66kg), Abdul R. Ahmad (under-73kg), Biru Singh (under-90kg) and Samarth S. Chumari (under-100kg).
