Samarth Rane, Kannayya Gaude star in their respective matches

Taleigao: VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, and Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, notched up dominant victories in their respective matches.

Shree Damodar College defeated St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, by eight wickets after putting up 216 for 7 in 20 overs. Granthik Buyao (60 off 27) and Badal Naik (55 off 25) led the charge. In reply, St Xavier’s were bowled out for 57 in 15.1 overs despite Saish Shetye’s 12. Samarth Rane (5-7) and Granthik (3-7) did the damage.

In the second match, GC Khandola beat SPES’s Goa Multi-Faculty College, Dharbandora, by 78 runs. Rishab Phadte struck 86 off 54 balls to power his side to 180 for 9, while Vrushab Gaude added 22. Savlo Gaonkar took 4 for 23.

Dharbandora managed 102 in 16.5 overs, with Swapnesh Zore (27) and Sahil Naik (21) offering resistance. Kannayya Gaude (3-12) and Omkar Navelkar (2-22) ensured a comfortable win.
