Peddem

Damodar Higher Secondary School (HSS) of Gudi Paroda claimed the title of state champions in the U-19 boys’ hockey tournament, defeating PVS Kushe Higher Secondary School (HSS) of Mapusa 5-2 at the Peddem hockey turf ground.

The match saw a dominant performance from Damodar HSS, with Santosh Kasapur, Harsh Gaonkar, Suhel Aldakatti, Sanket Patil, and Pankaj Naik all finding the back of the net.

Kasapur opened the scoring early in the match, setting the tone for a clinical display by the team. Gaonkar and Aldakatti doubled the lead, while Patil and Naik rounded off the victory in the second half.

PVS Kushe HSS, despite being under pressure, showed resilience, with Vasant Vishwakaram scoring both goals for his side. However, it was not enough to halt Damodar HSS’s relentless attack and solid
defense.
